The Georgian judo team finished participating in World Championship with 2 medals.

On the last day of the tournament Guram Tushishvili (+100 kg) wrestled on the Japanese tatami. He beat Shubham Kumar of India, Temur Rakhimov of Tajikistan and Henk Grol by ippons. In semifinal the Georgian fell to Japan’s Hisayoshi Harasawa. Unfortunately, in repechage final Tushishvili failed to Roy Meyer of Netherlands by waza-ari.

Georgia had 10 judokas at World Championship. Lukhum Chkhvimiani won gold medal in 60 kg and Luka Maisuradze won bronze medal in 81 kg.
