Young Classics Returned to Georgia

Georgian youth Greco-Roman wrestling team returned from Bucharest this evening. The team of Vladimir Adeishvili won 5 medals at World Championship which was held in the capital of Romania. Revaz Nadareishvili (84 kg) and Shota Gogisvanidze (120 kg) became world champions. Zurab Datunashvili (74 kg) and Sandro Dikhaminjia (96 kg) won silver medals and Kemal Kharabadze (60 kg) won bronze one. Georgian youth team took the first place.

Gia Galdava, secretary of minister of Sports and Youth Affairs, Irakli Samkurashvili, head of Sports Department, journalists and fans met Georgian wrestlers in the airport.

“Youth team competed in World Championship brilliantly. 5 medals is a great success. Our team was ahead of Russia and Azerbaijan. Coaches and wrestlers worked hard. We have talented youngsters. I am sure they will get in the national team soon. I do not exclude that perhaps, one of them can get in Olympic staff” – Gia Galdava told “World Sport”. Then, we asked short comments to the head coach and heavyweight world champion.

Vladimir Adeishvili: “I am happy that our work had result. We did not have champion in this age group and we gained two gold medals in Romania. I want to thank boys for such good competition”.

Shota Gogisvanidze: “After winning the first match, I realized that I could fight for medal because I had strong opponent. I am very happy. I want to thank my coaches and everyone who has merit in this success”.
