World SAMBO Championship is to Start in Georgia

 

Tomorrow including Sunday Tbilisi Sport Palace will host World SAMBO Championship. Prize- winners and champions will be found out in U-18 and 20 age categories. 500 sportsmen of 22 countries will compete in this tournament. Unfortunately, as organizers were expected there will not be reps from 35 countries.
Russia has the biggest delegation containing with 100-man. Supposedly the tense and decisive matches will be held among Georgian and Russian teams.
A head coach of Cadet Team Emil Rash and Badri Janiashvili a head coach of Youth Team held final training in Gldani Sport Centre. According to them the teams are inspired and each Sambo player will try to do their best and show maximum result.
According to the preliminary information there would not be female reps of Georgia but Gia Tenadze will reprsents his sportsmen.
Tomorrow will be found out 12 prize-winners. Champions will be found out in 40, 52 and 65 weight categories U-18 and as for males champions will be found out in 48, 60 and 75 weight category. U-22 girls will wrestle in 44, 56 and 68 weight categories and boys in 48, 62 and 82 weight categories.
At 17:00 World Championship will be opened officially and then will be held final fights.
Oleg Iadze the president of Georgian SAMBO Federation stated the following:” I want to call all sport fans to come in Sport Palace and support Georgian sportsmen. To fight in homeland is additional psychological advantages for Georgian sportsmen. I want to mention that attending these matches is free”.
