Hopes of Georgian fans to win medal in absolute weight class was disappointed. Three Georgian judokas: Aleksandre Mskhaladze, Adam Okruashvili and Levan Zhorzholiani
wrestled on tatami in Tokyo. All 3 sportsmen finished participation in the first stage. According to the preliminary statement, Lasha Gujejiani was to wrestle on tatami. He competed in voting but he was taken from the wrap today. Mskhaladze started participation in the championship from the second circle. After beating Australian Joshua Dali within one minute, he lost against Japanese Kazuhiko Takahashi in 3 minutes and half. Okruashvili also started from the second circle and won over Polish Janus Voinarovic by yuko. But Japanese Keiji Sudzuki defeated him by ippon. Zhorzholiani lost against the first opponent Spanish Anjel Para with points.
So, Georgian Judo Team finished World Championship 2010 without medal. Varlam Liparteliani wrestling in 90 kg had the best result. He took the 5th place.
