Georgian youth judo team departed for Croatia this morning. On Septembr 21-23 European Championship will take place in Porec. The team of Gia Gugava will wrestle on tatami with the full staff – head coach used 2-sportsman quota in 8 weight classes.

Olympic champion Lasha Shavdatuashvili (66kg) who won gold medal at European and World Championships is not member of youth team anymore.

The team of Gugava held two-week meeting in Gori. Because of Olympic Games, International Judo Federation did not hold world age championships. So, European Championship is the main tournament of the season for young Georgian judokas.
