With so Important Unbeaten Psychology

On September 6, Georgian and Israeli national teams trained for Euro 2012 qualifying match on the Boris Paichadze Stadium. This match will be held today (21:00) in Tbilisi and Georgian Public Broadcasting will broadcast it. At first, Georgian players trained on the national football stadium. Team of Temur Ketsbaia started training at 18:15 and they continued training while French coach of Israeli team held a press conference for journalists. Before talking about comments of Luis Fernandes (translated by coach of "Maccabi" Haifa Giorgi Daraselia), let us briefly say about Georgians training: all 21 players of Ketsbaia more or less trained fully. The only exception was goalkeeper of "Olimpi" Grigol Bediashvili who unlike his two colleagues, had less contact with the ball. Temur who before Sunday's training rejected the field quality to president and general secretary of federation, did not give any special instruction to the players. Square, two-goal, shooting in goals from afar - everything ended well.
Teams played with the following staff during two-goal:
Yellows - Revishvili, Lobjanidze, Asatiani, Amisulashvili, Kaladze, Koshkadze, Merebashvili, Ananidze, Gelashvili, Dvalishvili;
Reds - Loria, Salukvadze, Khizanishvili, Gvinianidze, Kvirkvelia, Aptsiauri, Kobiashvili, Gogua, Iashvili, Siradze.
The best moments of two-goal were goal of Giorgi Merebashvili, active playing of Ananidze from the left wing and Kakha Kaladze's playing in attacks. Traditionally, Gogua from "Reds" played actively.
Meanwhile, the guest coach became in the center of attention. A 50-year-old specialist with Spanish roots was reminded with an unsuccessful match held in Tbilisi 12 years ago (his team "Athletic" Bilbao lost with "Dinamo" 1:2 in Georgia and only thanks to this one goal they went through the next round of Champions League).
Luis Fernandes (head coach of Israeli team): When I look at these pictures I remember my working years in Spain. Georgians had a perfect team. As I know, your players are still in good condition and this was proved by the result against Greece. My best result while working in Bilbao was the second place at Spanish Championship and I hope if we will not take the first place at Israeli Championship I will repeat the Spanish success.
- Benayoun who is in the team now did not arrive with you on Sunday. Does it mean that he will not play tomorrow?
- On Sunday morning Yossi trained with the team in Israel and he trained in Georgia this morning. He just asked one dayoff and we agreed. He will play on Tuesday.
- What do you know about the opponent team and in your opinion who are the best Georgian players?
- This year I have watched all matches held by your team. I have heard a lot about Georgian players but unfortunately, I cannot remember their last names. Giorgi Daraselia will name one of them - he is playing in the club of Daraselia (Fernandes meant forward Lado Dvalishvili who is playing for Haifa).
- At first, Croatia and Greece were named as favorites in the group. Did draw between Georgia and Greece give more chances to your team or does Georgia still has a chance?
- I think, Georgia is a serious opponent and the first match showed it too. I think if we will not lose tomorrow this will be acceptable result for us.
Later we found out that, reason why midfielder of "Chelsea" London Yossi Benayoun did not arrive with the team was wedding of his brother. It is difficult to say if Jewish captain was a passive participant of the feast but one thing is obvious - he has a right of free movement in the team. "Sport News" was convinced in it when after a half-hour training Yossi went to the cloakroom. He came back soon and actively participated in unusual two-goal.
Two-goal of Fernandes was unusual because if other teams use half of the field for it, French coach put a goal between penalty area and half-way line. Jewish players spent first 15 minutes of the training on the field behind the goal. Then they used circle in the center for playing traditional squares. So, the guests saved those parts of the field which are not used much during the match.
While Jewish players were training on the Boris Paichadze Stadium, the guest colleague almost beat president of Israeli Federation Avi Luzon. As we found out, the journalist was protesting why Luzon did not let Fernandes call up some players. We have not seen such Georgian journalist against the president of federation but there were some occasions when foreign coach of Georgian team was given a list of called up "stars". We hope that the journalist was protesting not that his favorite player was not called up but that French coach was under his pressure.
After the training of Israeli team, the guest side let only two players make comments.
Shlomi Arbeitman ("Gent", Belgium): "The match will be really hard. Georgia is a seriuos opponent and spectators should expect any result".
Dekel Keinan ("Blackpool", England): "The chances are 50-50. Georgia has a good team where my former teammate is playing. I played only one season with Dvalishvili in Haifa and I was happy that he was not playing against me. But tomorrow the match will be not between us but between Georgia and Israel".
We will remind you one interesting fact from the football history of Georgia-Israel matches. Team debut of a 29-year-old defender Malkhaz Asatiani was against Israeli team. This happened on April 24 in 2001 when Georgians won only one from 4 match against Israel (3:2).
By the way, Temur Ketsbaia was captain of the team and scored 2 goals. After appointing him as a head coach, Georgian players held 4 unlosable matches (against Estonia 2:1, against Cameroon 0:0, Moldova 0:0 and against Greece 1:1) Finally, the team has unbeaten psychology.
Swiss referees leading with Sasha Kever will judge today's match. While Georgians were training on the half of the field, all 4 referees dressed in white were scoring goals on the other half.
