Every fan is expected to watch a brilliant match, which was held in Gdanks and no one needs my “wow, how cool it was!”, but it is newsworthy that since 1920 Spain has not beat Italy, it was the 110th match for Xavi, the 115th for Buffon and the 132nd match for national team for Casillas! The Spanish always used to proud of their goalkeeping school and Casillas is the No.1 goalkeeper in three-century football history of Spain, it is the fourth European championship for Iker (!) (in 2000 he was in substitutions)!!! One more thing also must be mentioned, yesterday 410 journalists and 103 photographs attended European Clasico. But you know how photographers attend matches..
In fact after the match all the TV companies found desirable football players for interview, my colleagues were working intensively in mixed zone too, all of them had sleepless night with computers and telephones- there is not held the match between Italy and Spain every year, is not it? They were sending materials by materials. It must be mentioned that there were VIP guests special for this match – Prince and Prime Minister of Spain.
After the match traditionally there was meeting and afterwards I went to hotel. I slept for four hours! At dawn I left for Warsaw and at once got to the stadium – pre matches trainings and press-conference had to ready. My colleague is responsible over the Pole and relations with media of Russian national team were my responsibility and at the press-conference which I was holding, Dick Advocaat came with Konstantin Zirianov. In total the press-conference lasted for more than half an hour and then the training started. After a brilliant debut of Russians, the interest towards them was increased and tomorrow a lot of journalists are expected to come to Warsaw national stadium. (in emergency system roof opens and closes in a very beautiful way in 18-20 minutes) on June 12 according to the weather forecast is to be nice weather and since the morning the roof will be opened.
I work at the third stadium and when I have chance I look through the city from the car and I wonder if there is anything else what we cannot build in Georgia and finally can we host European championship or now, even ten years later? I want to say that “wow, I cannot believe my eyes” did not feel yet besides stadiums – with modern design, the stadiums built countryside responds all the requirements, I think about “Dinamo”, “Meskhi” and Kutaisi stadium, can we make high-class stadiums based on them, of course it is difficult but there is resource of it!!! In fact I pay attention all the news and to my mind it will need us!
If Portugal managed, why Georgia and Azerbaijan cannot? If we have a wish there is always a way, if all of us do our best for it, it is quite possible! At that time, our players born in 1995 will be grown-up and we have a chance even to succeed, because it is a really prospective generation.
There are a lot of Russian journalists here, I dream to see some Georgian colleague, but only Lasha Tabagari is in Ukraine. As for others, as far as I know will join us later, in the quarter final, so I am still alone here. As far as you know, this victory guarantees the first place for Russia, winner of the group “A” stays in Warsaw and will play against winner of the group “B” at “National” in quarter-final. Today, Christian Karabeu world and European champion (who I knew before and will tell about in tomorrow) awards the player of the match with the special prize of “Carlsberg”.
