One round and Group F matches of EuroBasket 2011 will end up. Georgia is participating in it with Russia, Macedonia, Greece, Slovenia and Finland.

After losing to Finland, Georgia lost theoretical chance of going through the next round. Russia, Macedonia and Greece won a right to play at the next round from Group F. Slovenia and Finland are fighting for the fourth place. They are one point behind Greece (the third place) and will play against each other in the last round.

The game between Russia and Macedonia must turn out interesting. It is worth mentioning that Russia has not lost at the current tournament. Macedonia only lost to Montenegro. Winner between them will take the first place in Group F and will play against the fourth placed of Group E in ¼ final.

As for the game of Georgia and Greece, the result of this game will not change anything. Greeks will take the third place and Georgia – the sixth place.

Our today’s opponent – Greece is one of the best teams in the world. The team is in the 4th place in FIBA ranking. Georgian and Greek basketball players held the first game against each other in 1997. Both games ended up with victory of Greeks. The game in Tbilisi ended up 65:61 and 100:66 in Greece.

Greeks won 4 games in Group C (Bosnia – 76:67; Finland – 81:61; Montenegro – 71:55; Croatia – 74:67). The team lost to Macedonia (58:72) and took the second place.

As for the second group round, Greeks beat Slovenia 69:60 and lost to Russia 67:83.

The following players are the leaders of the team: Antonis Fotsis (“Milan”), Ioannis Bourousis (“Milan”), Nick Calathes (“Panathinaikos”), Nikos Zisis (“Siena”, Italy) and Kosta Koufos (“Denver”).
