Yesterday opponent football teams in the first round of current football championship could not win. ”Baia” Zugdidi participated in the 22 th National Championship with strong staff. They lost match against “Wit Georgia” 1:2. As for “Torpedo” they drew with current national champion “Olimpi” 1:1. This year both teams play with high ambitions.
Contradistinction between “Baia” Zugdidi and “Torpedo” Kutaisi started from the beginning of National Championships. By the way these clubs played against in the first National Championship in 1990. Since that time match between these clubs always arise interest.
Start of the match was quite interesting and at the 4 th minute goal was to scored. Megrelidze “Baia” football player kicked penalty, which was quite dangerous, but Migineishvili jumped acrobatically and parried the ball at the corner of the goal.
After 10 minutes was the 2nd dangerous moment from the host side. Khidasheli assisted to Dolidze, who tried to kick ball to the opponent’s goal, but midfielders did their best and saved the situation. After this there was not dangerous situation in the first half. Football players were fighting for positions in the middle of the field.
Opponents were trying to limit free zones for each other and they did it well. But match was without attacks, which was quite boring for spectators. “Torpedo” had a lot of fans who were supporting their favorite club strongly.
In fact no one kicked the ball to the direction of the goal till the end of first half. Both teams paid attention to standard situations within this time, but their penalty kicks were parried by Migineishvili and Somxishvili well.
It was quite clear, that the winner of this match would be team which would score first.
“Baia” Zugdidi started the second half with two changes, which had result soon. Guguchia started centre combination, assisted to Dolidze. Khubua who had just changed was given ball from Dolidze and kicked the ball to opponent’s goal. Migineishvili played well, parried the ball but for a short time. After his parrying Khubia passed the ball to Guguchia and he scored with strong kick 1:0.
“Baia” Zugdidi made dangerous combination at the 63 th minute. Megrelidze was face to face with goalkeeper, but Migineishvli left goal in time and parried the ball with legs.
After ten minutes was culmination of the match. “Torpedo” football player Takhnishvili kicked penalty, Somkhishvili parried the ball with difficulties. “Torpedo” football players were thinking that ball passed through goal line and were protesting with referee. But Silagava based on assistant ordered to continue match, still 1:0.
At the 82 th minute guests had other chance. Playing of host defenders and goalkeeper was non-co-ordination. Khachapuridze had chance of scoring but Somkhishvili saved the situation again. At the end of match “Torpedo” attacked with whole possibilities which caused problems in their defense. “Baia” players had chance of scoring several goals. Sikharulidze, Dolidze and Megrelidze could not use the chances of scoring. Before final whistle Khachapuridze kicked but Somkhishvili saved the situation again. After the match the best players from both teams, Luka Guguchia ( “Baia”) and Sevasti Todua (“Torpedo”) were awarded with prize, which was founded by football society “Zugdideli”.
Nestor Mumladze (“Torpedo”): “To tell the truth we could not play coordinated football. We were inspired but could not play combination football. “Torpedo” is new team and we need a little time for better result”
Elguja Kometiani (“Baia”): “First of all I congratulate return of football to whole Kutaisi. Today, both coaches are dissatisfied with their players. But I am satisfied with result. We have new team. It is true that our players are experienced but they need time and everything will be improved”.
