Urjukashvili is to Recover in Two Weeks

On Friday Malkhaz Urjukashvili a member of Georgian National Rugby Team and back-liner of French “Gourdon” (No.15) had individual training under supervision of doctor, while Garet Adamson fitness coach of Georgian National Team was training other players.

30-year-old Urjukashvili is one of the experienced players among those who were called up for New Zealand. Dixon has called up 32 players and 30 must be chosen from them. Only Irakli Abuseridze captain of the team played more matches than Urjukashvili. Urjukashvili played 67 matches for Georgian National Team, he is the top scorer of Georgian team. He as well as Pailiko Jimsheladze gained 320 points and if injury does not trouble him he will increase this result.  It is remarkable that Malkhaz gained most of the points with scoring 18 tries. Only Mamuka Gorgodze has better result than Urjukashvili, he scored 19 tries.

Urjukashvili participated in both two World Cups, besides him there are only 9 players in Georgian National Team who competed at World Cup. He stretched muscle of leg on the first day of training and he still suffers from pains. He as well as doctors thinks that he in two weeks he will be in good physical condition.

Malkhaz Urjukashvili:Unfortunately, I stretched my muscle of leg on the first day. Yesterday I X-rayed and fortunately muscle is not severed, just it is stretched and needs time. I still suffer from pains. Doctors suppose that rehabilitation needs two-three weeks. Recovery of course depends on organism of person. I started jogging on the second day, it is quite good result and to my mind in two weeks I will be able to train.
