BNP Paribas Open Tennis tournament which is underway in Indian Wells (prize-money 4 500 000 $) was very unsuccessful for Georgian tennis player Anna Tataishvili. Georgian top seed injured and finished competing in the first match of qualifying wrap.
21-year-old Anna Tatishvili was playing against Spanish Laura Pous- Tio when she refused continuing playing 3:6, 6:3, 0:4.
It is worth mentioning that Anna had chance of finishing the second set very well, because she was winning the first set 3:1, but finally she was loosing the set when refused of continuing.
In case of victory, Georgian player would gain 20 rating points, but now we should not wait her advance in rating. Nowadays she is on the 127th place in classification with 540 points.
Magda Okruashvili is competing at the tournament (prize money 25 000) which is underway in Florida.
In the first circle of qualification she won over Sasha Jones of New Zealand– 6:0, 6:1 easily. It is interesting that 20-year-old Okruashvili is not in rating and as for her rival she is the 258th seed. Her next rival is American Grace Min.
