Unexpected Failure

 

Georgian women’s chess team unexpected lost the third round of World Team Championship. Georgians lost to Vietnam 1:3. The most surprising is that Lela Javakhishvili and Nino Khurtsidze lost their games with white pieces.

This failure moved Georgian team from the first place to the second one. China, India and Russia are in Top 3. It is worth mentioning that the third round turned out sensation. Russians could not win over outsider Greece and Turkey lost to host Turkey.

Nine rounds will be held at World Championship which is underway in the city of Turkey, Mardin. The championship will end up on December 27. Russian team will be the next opponent of Georgian women’s team.
