Unexpected Difficulties in the 8th Round

Georgian teams did not play against favorite opponents in the 8th round of Chess Olympiad. Though, Georgian players held difficult matches but finally, they reached their desired results.
Current Olympic champion Georgian women's team held difficult matches against Serbia and if Natasa Bojkovic had not agreed with draw offered by Dzagnidze, perhaps, Nana could not have saved the match.
Before that, Sophiko Khukhashvili played draw. Bela Khotenashvili won over Jovana Eric with white pieces. Salome Melia lost against Irina Chelushkina with white pieces and final result was draw 2:2.
After unsuccessful match of Merab Gagunashvili against Belarusians, men's team was also in a difficult situation. Fortunately, Baadur Jobava and Mikheil Mchedlishvili won their own matches. Tamaz Gelashvili played draw and Georgian team won 2.5:1.5.
