Scotchman Jan Smith head coach of Georgian national u-19 team changed tactic of “The lelos” in the second half of the match against Romania. As a result Georgians scored 3 tries and after this change the score was – 21:0, in spite of attempt of referee, Georgian rugby players won over Romania - 24:8.
It was semi-final match of European U-19 championship. Georgian national u-19 team also guaranteed playing in final match of World Cup “Trophy” 2012. Before this match “The Lelos” plays in Romania one more match, Georgia plays against Russia as it happened in final match last year. As far as you know, Georgian team won over Russia 38:7 and became European champion. On November 5, at 17:15 o’clock (Tbilisi time) is to be held final of European championship.
It seems that Georgian national team has new head coach, it goes without saying that there are still mistakes but Georgian team has it’s a lot of advantages. “The Lelos” played none-traditional rugby, their playing was very spectacular, they were scoring tries after spectacular combinations.
In the first half of semi-final match, Romanians had advantages over Georgians with help of French referee. At the 4th minute they scored penalty, at the 6th minute Georgians equalized.
At the 12nd minutes Romanians scored try, but could not score realization and as a result gained eight-point advantages over Georgians. Before gaining eight-point advantages, Valery Rapava was sinn-bined from the pitch.
At the 19th minute Georgian national team managed to shortened point difference, when Saba Nikolava scored penalty kick.
Of course it caused activation of the opponent, they started to attack but Georgian in site of help attempt of referee managed to show big resistance.
Afterwards, the match became massed up and Georgians were good at such playing. In the second half, Romanians had chances to score twice, but they wrongly kicked both of the penalty kicks and time ended 3:8.
In the second half Georgian national team started not very well. But soon activated and in spite of unfair referee Levan Gogolashvili managed to score try and Nikolava scored realization 10:8. At the 48th minute Georgians again managed to score try and Nikolava again managed to score realization.
At the 54th minutes Merab Sharikadze scored try and Nikolava again scored realization well – 24:8. Nothing was changed before final whistle, Georgians guaranteed playing at World Cup “Trophy” and went through the final of European championship.
In final match Georgians play against Russian U-19 team, which won over Holland (45:8) in semi-final match.
