"Palanga Cup" tournament of U-17 teams is finished in Lithuania. Team of Koba Zhorzhikashvili took the 3rd place. 8 teams participated in the tournament and our team took the 2nd place in the group. They beat Moldova 6:0, lost with Ukrainian U-16 team 0:3 and defeated Latvia 3:1 in the last round of the group. Temur Markozashvili, Bacho Arabuli and Guram Samushia scored goals.
There is no semifinals at the tournament. So, for the 3rd place Georgian players held match against Belarus (2nd place winner of another group). Team of Zhorzhikashvili beat its opponent 5:1 and won the third place. It is worth mentioning that Belarusians had advantage at the 19th minute but our U-17 players scored 2 goals in the first half and one in the second half.
Giorgi Pantsulaia scored hat-trick. Nika Kacharava and Jemal Khantadze scored one goal. It is strange, boys of Zhorzhikashvili convincingly won 3 matches - then what happened in the match against U-16 Ukrainian players?
