Georgian national U-16 team took the second place at four’s tournament, which started after Easter, on April 15. You are supposed to know that in semi-final Nodar Akobia’s team beat Armenia 4:0 and Turkish team defeated Kazakhstan 10:0. Kazakhs took the third place, they won over Armenia 1:0. As for final, Georgia-Turkey, it was held at “Mikheil Meskhi” and finished in favor of Turkey 0:3. Ogalchan (at the 13rd minute), Furkan Qopuz (17) and Orkan Chinar (30) scored goals.

It must be mentioned that Akobia’s team was staffed with players, who are born in 1997, so it is the team which starts competition in qualifying round of European U-17 championship next year, in autumn. As for Turkish team, it was staffed with players, who are born in 1996- who will play at qualifying round this year.
Age difference was evident, Turkish players were taller and more strongly built than Georgians. One year is quite big difference in this age.
Turkish players played much better than Georgians. The most distinguished moment in Georgian team was: Nika Lashkhia kicked standard kick and the ball touched the goalpost. It happened at the beginning of the match. After the time-out, rhythm fell and the match became less spectacular.

After the match there was held award ceremony and memorable team photos. Georgian and Turkish teams were awarded with meals.
