Georgian chess players Tamar Esadze U-8 and Meri Arabidze U-18 won silver medals at European chess championship, which was held in the city of Bulgaria, Albena.
It is must be mentioned that Esadze gained 8.0 points in 9 rounds and she was behind Bulgarian chess player only with additional points. As for Arabidze, she gained 7.0 points and she was half-point behind Moldovan chess player, who became champion. In U-18 tournament, Mariam Danelia took the sixth place with 6.0 points. Several Georgian chess players are distinguished in spite of not being in top three. Nikoloz Kacharava took the fourth place in U-8, Nino Khomeriki has the same result (14), Zurab Javakhadze (18) took the fifth place and Ana Shamatava (16) – the sixth.
