Georgian Anna Tatishvili advanced on WTA ranking. In this May Tatishvili was world No.69 tennis player. Today she is in the 71st place with 895 points.
Two WTA tournaments will be held this week – New Haven (637 000 USD) and Dallas (220 000 USD) but Anna will not participate in them. The next goal of 22-year-old Georgian is US Open which starts on August 27.
Last year two Georgian tennis players competed in US Open but unsuccessfully. In the first round of the qualifying draw Maka Chakhnashvili lost to Jin-Jin Lu of China 7:6 (7:5), 3:6, 1:6. In the main draw Anna Tatishvili lost to Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova of Russia 2:6, 2:6.
Sofia Kvatsabaia and Ekaterine Gorgodze will play at Enschede tournament (Holland, 10 000 USD). On Sunday they won doubles draw of Ratingen tournament (10 000 USD). In Holland Kvatsabaia will be No.3 seed and Gorgodze – No.6 seed.
