Two Georgians at Kachi-Koshi in Tokyo

The 12nd day of Septembar Basho which is underway in “Riogoku Kokugikan” in Tokyo was very important for Georgian sportsmen. Levan Tsaguria (Kokkai) and Teaimuraz Jugheli (Gagamaru) managed to show positive balance, what means the achieving of their titles. Georgian pioneer in Sumo Levan Tsaguria (ex- Komusubi) who started competing at Aki-Basho as the 8th Maegashira of East celebrated the 8th victory after winning over the 14th Maegashira Tamavashi.
Tsaguria’s advance in rating is guaranteed, but if he wants serious success, he should do his best in the next matches. His next rival is the 11st  Maegashira Yoshikaze, who as leader as compatriot Takekaze and Iokuzuna Hakuho.
Yoshikaze won 10 matches from 12 (one of them against Gagamaru) and he has negative balance with Tsaguria. Last year Japanese lost several times with Georgian sportsman and only In July Basho he managed to take revenge on him. For Gagamaru Shikona is guaranteed to improve title in Elite Makuuchi Division, he is competing as the 15th Maegashira of East in Septemeber Aki-Basho. Georgian (220kg) sportsman beat Tosaiutaka the 7th Maegashira. Gagamaru gathered 8 wins and 4 loses and he will hold the next fight against the 11rt  Maegashira Kotokasugas, who has the equal balance (6-6). 33-year-old Fukuoukel beat Tsaguria on the 6th day of the tournament and managed to defeat Jugeli twice, in March and in May.

22-year-old Levan Gorgadze so called Tochinoshini showed the worst result from Georgians. He began competing with three victories, but then lost many times and found himself in bad condition. Today, in the morning Tochinoshini lost fight over Kakuriu and now has equal balance 6:6.
The second Maegashira of West Tochinoshini will hold three matches in Tokyo and should win minimum2 fights. His next rival will be Mongolian ex-Komusu Hakuba (the 5th Maegashira). This year in March and May Tochinoshini beat Hakuba and in July Levan was defeated.
Iokuzina Hakuho gathered 59 wins. This time he won over Ozeki Kayo and gathered 12 victories in Aki-Basho. As we have already mentioned, Hakuho is ahead with two victories with Yoshikaze and Takekaze. So there is chance to become champion and win “Emperor Cup” in the next round, in cae of beating his opponent Ozeki Baruto of Estonia.
