On January 29-30, Greco-Roman international tournaments will be held in Turkey and France. Candidates of Georgian team will participate in both tournaments. In Istanbul, 15 Georgian sportsmen will wrestle at the 29th international tournament named after “Vehbi” Emre. 3 Georgian wrestlers will compete in Creteil.
According to the information of Georgian Wrestling Federation, the following sportsmen will wrestle in Turkey: Zurab Macharashvili (55 kg), Irakli Chochua (60 kg), Archil Turmanidze, Mukhran Machutadze, Revaz Lashkhi (all 66 kg), Giorgi Datunashvili, Ilia Gulbatashvili, Anton Mamageishvili (74 kg), Mate Sopadze, Giorgi Tsirekidze (84 kg), Solomon Gikashvili, Soso Jabidze, Vladimir Karchava (96 kg), Guram Perselidze and Revaz Chelidze (120 kg).
Head coach Begi Darchia and coaches Akaki Chachua and Otar Tatishvili will leave for Istanbul with the team candidates. Organizers invited Temur Kazarashvili as a referee. According to the preliminary information, Manuchar Tskhadaia was also in the Turkish list but he was substituted with Datunashvili because of injury.
Manuchar Kvirkvelia (74 kg), Ramaz Nozadze (96 kg) and Dimitri Javakhishvili (120 kg) will compete in Creteil international tournament. Kakha Getsadze, president of Georgian Wrestling Federation, will leave for France with the sportsmen.
