Turkish European Rehearsal of Wrestlers

 

Georgian freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling teams gained a lot of medals at the international tournament which took place in Ankara on May 25-27. Nugzar Skhireli and Vladimer Adeishvili, head coaches of the teams, took expanded staff to Turkey. Freestyle wrestlers will arrive in Tbilisi with 3 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze medal. Lasha Talakhadze (55kg), Jumber Kvelashvili (74kg) and Omar Gusoshvili (96kg) wrestled without a failure. Levan Kelekhsashvili (66kg) and Giorgi Meshvildishvili (120kg) won silver medals. Lasha Bitarashvili (60kg) and Zurab Iakobashvili (66kg) won bronze medals.

Greco-Romans won 2 gold, 1 silver and 6 bronze medal. Iakob Kajaia (96kg) and Levan Arabuli (120kg) won gold medals. Arabuli defeated Shota Gogisvanidze in final and perhaps, Gogisvanidze is left beyond European staff. Beka Balanchivadze (50kg), Ramaz Surmanidze (55kg), Piruz Tsulukidze (60kg), Lasha Gobadze (74kg), Robert Kobliashvili (84kg) and Kukuri Kirtskhalia (96kg) took the third place.

Turkish tournament was the last rehearsal for Georgian wrestlers before European Championship which will be held in Croatia on June 19-24. The teams will hold the last meeting and head coaches will name the staffs.
