Turkish club “Galatasaray” with Avtandil Chrikishvili, Varlam Liparteliani and Adam Okruashvili members of Georgian national judo team took the third place at European Club Championship. Today, on the final day of the tournament, host club lost with future champion German “Abensberg: 2:3 in semi-final. In the match for bronze medal, French “Chilly-Mazarin Morgan” 4:1 and Georgians played the main role in this match. Chrikishvili, Liparteliani and Okriashvili won with ippons.
Lasha Shavdatuashvili Olympic champion, member of Georgian national team also plays for “Galatasaray” Istanbul, but due to injury he could not wrestle. In the final, “Abensberg” beat Russian “Iavara Neva: 3:2. Zaza Zviadauri brought decisive points to German club.
