One judoist is added to the list of Georgian judo team for World Championship. There is only one vacancy place left. Besides Mindia Khomizuri, Shalva Kardava will wrestle in a 66-weight-class at the championship. Tomorrow the best from 3 candidates will be named in a 81-weight-class.
"Between Shalva Kardava and Paata Merebashvili, we made our choice on Kardava and we postponed to make another important decision for tomorrow. On August 11 we may hold control matches among Giorgi Shinjikashvili, Ioseb Tselauri and Khvicha Khutsishvili and find out the second number of the weight" - stated head coach Amiran Totikashvili to "World Sport".
Judoists with expanded staff are training in Borjomi. The team will come back to Tbilisi next week and hold final meeting in the capital. Georgian delegation will arrive in Japan on September 2, one week before the start of the championship.
According to the decision of International Judo Federation, each member country will have two sportsmen in each weight class at World Championship on September 9-13. One absolute judoist is allowed to be taken in the list and Amiran Totikashvili will fully fill this quota. 14 from 15 Georgian judoists are known.
