Young Tornike Shengelia is the fourth Georgian, who will play for NBA, but he is the first Georgian who will play for New Jersey “Brooklyn Nets”.
“World Sport” connected 20-year-old Shengelia, who was to leave for his club base for medical check, in some hours he will sign contract with “Nets” and officially will become its member.

- Yes, for two years I will play for “Brooklyn Nets”.
- You have contract with “Charleroi” of Belgium and will Europeans make any obstacle to you?
- According to the contract with “Charleroi” I had to play for them for one year, but it is not problem. American side will pay 300 000 USD buy out to them and the problem will be solved.
- I was observing you in Summer League and you were progressing. It can be said that you are in the best physical condition?
- Fortunately, I was progressing after each match. I was trying to represent myself in the best way and if they decided to transfer me it means that they liked me. I am very happy. I was waiting for their answer for several days, deadline was on Monday then it was delayed for Tuesday, if I did not get answer till August 1… thanks god everything is ok.
- “Nets” also transferred Chris Hampry to your position too…
- Yes, there are two players in my position in the club, at the beginning I will be in substitutes. It is good for me, if I have overcome more obstacles more progress I will have.
-There are a lot of newcomers. Supposedly “Nets” must have serious goals.

- I cannot say the concrete day. To my mind I will manage to come for the meeting of the team.
