Top 3 without Georgians

 

 

Georgian chess player Nana Dzagnidze (2559) was in the first place at the European Individual Women Rapid Chess Championship o the first day, but yesterday she competed unsuccessfully and as a result could not manage to enter in top3.

Dzagnidze played six rounds without failures, but on the second day she lost two matches and finally she was 2.0 point behind champion Tatiana Kosintseva (Russia, 2513), who gained 9.0 points. Nana and other five chess players, among them Nana Batsiashvili (2438) took the fourth-ninth places, according to the additional points Dzagnidze is in the fourth place. As for Batsiashvili, she took the seventh place.
Champion Kosintseva won 2 000 EURfrom prize money, Alexandra Kosteniuk (Russia, 2448) the second place winner and the third place winner German Elisabeth Paehtz (2459), who placed third won 1250 EUR, as for Dzagnidze and Batsiashvili, they won 650-650 EUR.
As for other Georgian participants, they had such final result: 14. Nino Khurtsidze (2447) -6.5; 16. Sophio Gvetadze (2334) -6.0; 20. Nazi Paikidze (2406)- 6.0; 22. Sophiko Guramishvili (2395) -5.5; 23. Bela Khotenashvili (2490) -5.5; 26. Meri Arabidze (2337)- 5.0; 33. Lela Javakhishvili (2448) -5.0;
March 17 is day off and on March 18 starts European Individual Women Blitz Chess Championship.
