Three Medals on the First Day

 

Georgian Greco-Roman wrestling team successfully started Dortmund “Grand Prix”. On the first day of the tournament – on June 30 Revaz Lashkhi (60kg), Vladimer Gegeshidze (84kg) and Soso Jabidze (96kg) wrestled on German mat and all of them won medals.

Lashkhi had better result. He became champion. In final Lashkhi defeated Bayramov, Azerbaijani finalist of Beijing Olympics.

Gegeshidze beat current world champion Selimov of Belarus but lost to Johansson of Sweden. Jabidze also lost to Swedish opponent – Frederick. Later, the Swedish became champion. In final, he defeated Gaber of Egypt who won Ramaz Nozadze over in final of Olympic Games.

Dortmund “Grand Prix” will end up on July 1. Manuchar Tskhadaia, Zurab Datunashvili (both 74kg) and Guram Perselidze (120kg) will wrestle from the team of Begi Darchia.
