On February 26 two members of Georgian Greco-Roman Team wrestled at International Tournament named after Nikola Petrov which is underway in the city of Bulgaria, Burgas. One of them Dimitri Javakhishvili (120 kg) won bronze medal.
Georgian sportsman held only one match in the main wrap of the tournament. After losing with Turkish Nigar Bairam (future silver medal winner) beat Moldovian Anatoly Moldovan in repechage. He won over Bulgarian Miloslav Metodiev in “bronze final”. Vladimer Gegeshidze (84 kg) lost chance of winning gold-silver chance in the first match, he was not given chance of wrestling in repechage.
Today champions and prize winner will be found out in 55 and 66 weight categories. Lasha Gogtadze (55 kg), Archil Turmanidze and Anton Mamageishvili (both of them 66 kg) represent Georgia at this tournament today.
