The Second Antalya Tournament of Basilashvili

 

20-year-old Georgian tennis player Nikoloz Basilashvili won the Antalya tournament (Turkey, 10 000 USD) twice in a row. He advanced on ATP ranking.

Basilashvili passed 5 circles in Antalya. No.1 seed Georgian beat Yannick Vandenbulcke of Belgium 7:6 (7:5), 7:6 (7:2), walkover Dennis Novak of Austria and defeated Sherif Sabry of Egypt 7:6 (7:0), 7:6 (7:2). In semifinal Nikoloz won over Wunner of Germany 6:2, 6:1 and in final he defeated No.5 seed Olaso of Spain – 6:2, 6:2.

Basilashvili won the Antalya tournament (10 000 USD) last week too. He earned 18 ranking points. Georgian top seed has 164 points and is in the 284th place on ATP ranking. It is his highest ranking. Before that his highest ranking was No.305 which the Georgian achieved on October 1.

18 points will be added to Basilashvili after one week. Perhaps, he will become world No.265.
