The First Sensation in Anaklia

The first sensational result was made in Anaklia at Georgian Chess Women’s 68th National Championship.

17-year-old international grand master Nazi Paikidze who has the highest rating among the players at this tournament lost with international master Miranda Mikadze with white pieces.
Other matches also were very interesting. Nino Khurtsidze, the most experienced chess player of this tournament won over Sopho Khukhashvili, Bela Khotenashvili drew with Lela Javakhishvili, Salome Melia a member of National Team and current Georgian Champion won opver Nino Batsiashvili. So, after the first round, those players have one point: Nino Khurtsidze, Miranda Mikadze, Salome Melua, Mariam Danelia and Maka Purtseladze. The match beteen Khurtsidze and Paikidze, which holds in the second round arises big interest.
