The First Bronze Medal- Giorgi Gogshelidze Brought First Medal to Georgian Team

Georgian National Team managed to win first gold medal before ending World Wrestling Championship in Moscow. 4 members from sevensome present Georgian free style and improved the result of Greco-Roman style sportsmen. In 96 weight category Georgian sportsman won bronze medal. Yesterday Malkhaz Kurdiani (60 kg) and Davit Mrsagishvili (84kg) wrestled but could not win medal.

In 96 kg everything started as Georgian fans expected but finish was not so well. Giorgi Gogshelidze who beat Greek Ioannis Papadopoulos and Polish Radoslav Baran wrestled against Hajimurat Gatsalov wrestling in the name of Russia. Gogshelidze won the first set but then he got tired and lost the match.
Gatsalov went through the final. He has already won over Armenian Edgar Enukyan and in "bronze final" he will wrestle against Iranian Arfal Moradal Amir.
He beat Iranian Arfal Moradal Amir in decisive fight.
Kurdiani (60 kg) held only two matches in the main wrap. After beating Franklin Gomez Mato of Puerto Rico, like Marsagishvili, he was beat by Ukrainian Vasil Fedorishin. Unlike Aldatov, Fedorishin went through the final. He was defeated by Dilshod Mansurov of Uzbekistan but he could do nothing against Russian Ersin Chetin and was left beyond the pedestal. Davit Marsagishvili (84kg) lost chance of winning golden or silver medals in semi quarter. He was defeated by Ibragim Aldatova of Ukraine in two sets, but Aldatova could not go through the final and that’s why Marsagishvili lost chance of wrestling in repechage. Aldatova before losing beat Istvan Verebi of Hungary and Kanat Bardievi of Kazakhstan.

On September 12 on the last day of Championship will be found out champions and prize winners in 66, 74 and 120 weight categories. Otar Tushishvili (66kg), Gela Sagirashvili (74kg) and Levan Berianidze (120kg) will wrestle.
