Thanks and Georgian List for Paris

 

Lado Vardzelashvili, minister of Sports and Youth Affairs, thanked Georgian judo team and management of Judo Federation for the result at Tbilisi World Cup. The minister mentioned quite strong foreign sportsmen wrestled on tatami at Sports Palace. Georgian judokas showed quite good result though he added the boys must train more to compete in Olympic Games well.

Giorgi Aleksidze, president of Judo Federation, thanked the sportsmen who gathered in the press conference hall. Head coach Peter Seisenbacher made the following statement: “It was a good World Cup for us, we almost did our best. Next week, we will participate in Paris Grand Slam where of course, we will not achieve the same result but I believe, after ending up the qualifying stages, we will have 7 licenses for London”.

After the press conference, Seisenbacher named the staff for Paris. Amiran Papinashvili will wrestle in 60 kg, Shalva Kardava – in 66 kg, Avtandil Tsrikishvili – in 81 kg, Varlam Liparteliani and Zurab Zviadauri – in 90 kg, Levan Zhorzholiani – in 100 kg, Zviad Khanjaliashvili and Adam Okruashvili – in +100 kg. According to the decision of the coach, Georgian team will not have participant in 73 kg. As for the injury of Zviadauri, nothing is serious and he will be able to leave for France. But before that, doctors will examine him well.
