Georgian top seed tennis player Anna Tatishvili will play at AEGON Trophy (75 000 USD) in Britain. It is worth mentioning that quite strong tennis players will participate in Nottingham tournament this year – 12 tennis players of Top 100 will play on British grass.
Tatishvili is No.5 seed and will play against Melinda Czink of Hungary in the first round of the main draw. 22-year-old Georgian girl has 873 points and is in the 75th place on WTA ranking. 29-year-old Czink is in the 116th place with 590 points. Budapest tennis player had the best period in September 2009 when she was No.37.
Tatishvili and Czink have played against each other three times and the Hungarian has minimal advantage. In 2007, Melinda beat Anna 6:1, 6:3 in Charleston. In 2008, in Boston Tatishvili was winning 5:3 when her opponent retired. In 2009, Czink defeated the Georgian 6:2, 6:1 in Hobart.
Tamira Paszek of Austria is No.1 seed at Nottingham tournament. Paszek and Tatishvili will play in doubles draw together. In the first round, Georgian and Austrian duet will play against Americans (Lee-Waters/Moulton-Levy).
Natia Gegia is trying to get in the main draw of Karshi tournament (Uzbekistan, 25 000 USD). Georgian tennis player defeated Rano Nizamova of Uzbekistan 6:2, 6:1. In the decisive match, Natia will play against Ksenia Palkina of Kyrgyzstan.
Sofia Shapatava will play in the main draw. Ekaterina Yashina of Russia is her first rival. In doubles draw, Shapatava and Sviatlana Pirazhenka of Belarus will play against Russians – Yashina and Pashkova.
Five Georgian tennis players will play in the main draw of Agri tournament (Turkey, 10 000 USD). Mariam Kiknadze will play against Romanova of Russia, Babilina Machaidze – against Kayrun of Turkey, Teona Tatishvili – against Paykoc of Turkey, Tamar Chalaganidze – against Akgul of Turkey and Tamar Tskhakaia – against Sizikova of Russia.
