As it was reported, Georgian tennis player Anna Tatishvili is in the main draw of Miami Premier Class tournament and according to the ballot her first rival is Tamira Paszek. Prize money of Sony Ericsson Open is 4 828 050 USD and all the strong players of the world will compete at this tournament. Last year Tatishvili played in Miami, managed to go through the main draw, where she beat Belarusian Govortsova (6:3, 5:76, 6:3) in the first round and in the second round she lost with Spanish Martina Sanches 1:6, 4:6. In spite of this, the previous Miami competition was successful for Tatishvili, because she gained 50 ranking points.
Tamira Paszek is No.52 in WTA ranking and Georgian tennis player is No.77 with 834 points. 22-year-old Tatishvili plays against Paszek first time in her career. This following match will be held at tonight.
Natia Gegia went through the main draw of the tournament, which is underway in the capital of Kazakhstan (Alma-Ata, 25 000 USD). Gegia beat Russian Daria Afanasieva – 6:2, 6:3 in the final stage of qualifying round. Now, Georgian tennis players will compete against Kazakh Camila Kerimbaieva. As for No.8 seed Kalashnikova, she plays against Ukrainian Anastasya Vasilieva.
In doubles tournament Gegia and Natalia Berezhnaya of Kazakhstan beat Slovakian-American duet (Juhaszova-Riley) 7:%, 6:4 and went through the semi-final, No.2 duet Kalashnikova and Eugeniya Pashkova of Russia will play against No.2 seed duet of Kapshay of Ukraine and Treskunova of Russia.
