In the first round of French Open Anna Tatishvili plays against American Alexa Glatch (USA). Georgian tennis player had to play against one of the winners of qualifying round of “Roland Garros” and it was found out earlier that Glatch would be her opponent, which is not a bad variant for her.

22-year-old American tennis player is No.190 seed in WTA ranking. She played in the main draw of French Open only once and lost it, it happened in 2009.

In the qualifying round of “Roland Garros” she celebrated three victories. In the first round she beat Czech Reneta Voratsova -6:3, 6:7 (5:7), 6:0, then she won over No.4 seed Uzbek Akgul Ananmuradova – 4:6, 6:4, 6:1 and in the decisive circle she beat Bulgarian Sesil Karatancheva representative of Kazakhstan – 6:2, 6:4.

Tatishvili and Glatch played five times in WTA tournaments, the result of their matches are in favor of Tatishvili (3:2). In 2006 in San Francisco American player won 0:6, 6:4, 6:3. Then Anna celebrated two victories in La Quinta – 6:1, 6:3 in 2007 and in 2008 in Indian Harbor Beach – 3:6, 6:4, 6:0. In 2008 Alexa equalized at Los Angeles tournament – 6:1, 4:6, 6:3 and in 2010 Georgian tennis player again beat Alexa – 3:6, 6:3, 7:5.

 Tatishvili is in the 72nd place with 873 points on WTA ranking and she is fighting for playing at London Olympic Games. The upcoming match is very important for Georgian girl.

Anna will gain 100 ranking points for overcoming the first round of “Roland Garros”. It will give her chance to get in Top 65. It is 99% guarantee of Olympiad. Rival of Tatishvili will be known this evening. In case of victory, Anna will play against winner between No.18 Flavia Pennetta (world No.20) and Hsieh Su-Wei of Taiwan (No.64).
