In the first round of Acapulco tournament, Tatishvili beat Eva Birnerova of Czech Republic 6:4, 4:6, 6:3. The match lasted 2 hours and 22 minutes. Georgian No.1 tennis player earned 30 points with going through the second round of Abierto Mexicano TELCEL. Though, she will add only 14 points because last year Anna overcame the qualifying draw and earned 16 points.
There is a chance that Anna might advance in WTA ranking. Anna has 822 points and is in the 74th place.
No.4 seed Irina-Camelia Begu of Romania will be opponent of Anna in 1/8 final of Mexican tournament. 21-year-old Romanian tennis player is in the 53rd place. Begu reached her highest ranking last September when she was in the 38th place. It is worth mentioning that Irina-Camelia plays the best on clay. It will be difficult for Tatishvili to beat Irina-Camelia.
Tatishvili will play against Begu for the first time. In case of victory, Anna will earn 70 points. In ¼ final, Tatishvili will play against winner between Magdalena Ribarikova of Slovakia and Ximena Hermoso of Mexico. 130 rating points are for going through semifinal, finalist will earn 200 points and winner – 280 points.
