Tatishvili Used Her Chance

 

Anna Tatishvili used her chance perfectly and celebrated an important victory in the main draw of Cincinnati tournament. The Georgian tennis player won over world No.31 tennis player Klara Zakopalova of Czech Republic 7:6 (7:5), 7:5.

22-year-old Tatishvili could not overcome the qualifying draw of Western & Southern Open (2 168 400 USD) but she got in the main draw instead of injured Ana Ivanovic of Serbia.

This match lasted two hours. Anna did not serve ace, made three double faults (her opponent made 5 double faults) and used 4 from 10 break-points. Anna lost her serve three times (from 4). Overall Tatishvili won 93 points and Zakopalova – 85.

Tatishvili earned 70 ranking points. In the second round she will play against Ekaterina Makarova of Russia. Makarova was defeating compatriot Nadia Petrova 7:6 (10:8), 3:1 when Nadia retired. If Anna beats world No.44 tennis player, she will gain 125 points. Now Tatishvili has 843 points and is in the 76th place on WTA ranking.

Today Anna will play in doubles draw too. Anna and Makarova will play against American-Indian duet at 23:30.
