Tatishvili-Tanasugarn - on the 19th court

Georgian top seed tennis player Anna Tatishvili is in the main draw of Wimbledon. She will hold the first match on the 19th court at 14:30 Tbilisi time on Monday. Veteran Tamarine Tanasugarn of Thailand will be her first opponent.

Georgian tennis player is lucky because Tanasugarn is in the 114th place on WTA ranking.

The Bangkok veteran showed up in the professional tour 20 years ago (!). She reached her highest ranking in 2002 when she was world No.19. 22-year-old Tatishvili is No.72.

Georgian and Thai tennis players will play against each other for the first time. Winner between them will play against winner between Camila Giorgi of Italy and Flavia Pennetta of Italy.

Last year, Tatishvili defeated Anastasia Pivovarova of Russia in the first round. In the second round, she was beating No.19 Belgian Yanina Wickmayer but lost 6:3, 4:6, 2:6. So, Anna has to defend 100 ranking points.

In doubles draw, Anna and Russian Nina Bratchikova will play against American duet (Kops-Jones/Spears).

Sofia Kvatsabaia went through ¼ final of Lenzerheide tournament (Switzerland, 25 000 USD) where she lost to No.2 seed Aleksandra Krunic of Serbia 0:6, 1:6.
