This week Georgian tennis players are competing in different tournaments: Oksana Kalashnikova overcame the qualifying draw of Caserta tournament (Italy, 25 000 USD). No.12 seed Kalashnikova defeated Alessia Camplone of Italy 6:0, 6:2. Then, she beat o.2 seed Adriana Perez of Venezuela 6:4, 7:5.
In the main draw Oksana will play against Ana Vrljic of Croatia. No.6 seed Maka Chakhnashvili will play against Sharon Fichman of Canada. It is worth mentioning that Fichman and Kalashnikova will play against Italian-French (Clerico-Laurendon) duet in doubles draw.
Sofia Shapatava tried to get in the main draw of Saint-Gaudens tournament (France, 50 000 USD). No.8 seed Georgian tennis player beat Veronica Saucedo of Argentina 6:0, 6:0 but she lost to Mervana Jugic-Salkic of Bosnia-Herzegovina 6:3, 5:7, 0:6.
Sofia Kvatsabaia will play against No.2 seed Irina Buryachok of Ukraine in the first round of Fergana tournament (Uzbekistan, 25 000 USD). In doubles draw, Sofia and Melis Sezer of Turkey will play against the hosts – Folts and Ogorodova.
Magda Okruashvili defeated Mariya Slupska of Ukraine in the qualifying draw of Landisville tournament (USA, 10 000 USD). Louisa Chirico of America will be her next opponent. In Istanbul, Tamar Chalaganidze lost to Simona Ionescu of Romania 0:6, 2:6.
