As it was expected, Anna Tatishvili advanced on WTA ranking after going through 1/8 final of US Open. Today 22-year-old Georgian tennis player has advanced with 21 places and is in the 52nd place with 1170 points.
Before that Anna Tatishvili had the highest ranking – world No.69 which she reached in May. Now she has improved her result. In a new ranking Anna is 60 points ahead of Marina Erakovic of New Zealand and is 45 points behind 51st-placed Petra Cetkovska of Czech Republic.
Tatishvili is in Quebec and will play at “Challenge Bell” (220 000 USD). Sesil Karatantcheva of Kazakhstan will be her opponent in the first round. In case of victory, Anna will play against winner between Petra Martic of Croatia and Camila Giorgi of Italy.
Tatishvili played in Quebec last year. She lost to Julie Coin of France 7:5, 4:6, 4:6 in the first round. So, Anna does not have to defend points. In case of overcoming the first round, she will earn 30 points. ¼ finalists will gain 70 points, semifinalists – 130, finalists – 200 and champion – 280.
