Last year Anna said good-bye to Flushing Meadow courts in the first circle, but this year after three victories in a row, Anna went through the 1/8final of US Open and only one match is left before being among top 8 players. After beating Stephanie Foretz Gacon of France and Sorana Cirstea of Romania, opponent of Tatishvili was Mandy Minella of Luxembourg. Anna beat Minella at Acapulco tournament in 2010 and we hoped that No.73 seed (WTF) Georgian tennis player would beat No.79 seed player from Luxembourg easily. In the first set Minella showed a strong resistance against Anna, but Tatishvili won 7:5, in the second match Tatishvili had absolute result 6:0 and today she plays No.1 seed of the planet Belarusian Viktoria Azarenka in 1/8 final match. 1/8 final match between Georgian and Belarusian players will be held tomorrow in the evening.
