Maka Chakhnashvili and Sofia Shapatava have a little progress. Oksana Kalashnikova who was Georgian No.2 tennis player is in the 244th place with 228 points. Oksana is in the fourth place among Georgians.

The tournament (25 000 USD) is underway in the capital of Armenia, Yerevan. Seven Georgian tennis players started participation in the qualifying draw but only three of them are through the main draw.
Ani Gokvadze defeated Suzanna Grigoryan of Russia 6:2, 4:6, 6:1. Then, she won over Evgeniya Svintsova of Russia 6:4, 6:1. In the main draw, Ani beat Tamar Chalaganidze of Georgia 6:4, 6:2. Before that, Chalaganidze defeated Aleksandra Treskurova of Russia (6:0, 6:3) and compatriot Mariam Kurasbediani (6:1, 6:4).
Natia Gegia is competing successfully. She defeated Babilina Machaidze of Georgia (6:1, 6:3) and Tamar Pichkhadze who is competing in the name of Russia (6:1, 6:2). Gegia will play against Lidziya Marozava of Belarus in the main draw.
After beating Mariam Skhirtladze (6:2, 6:2), Tamar Komakhidze lost to Julia Gavenko of Russia 3:6, 6:3, 0:6. Teona Tatishvili lost to Inna Volkovich of Kyrgyzstan 6:3, 4:6, 2:6.
Other three Georgian tennis players will start participation from the main draw. No.4 seed Sofia Shapatava will play against Anna Shkudun of Ukraine. Tatia Mikadze will play against Maria Sakkari of Greece and Ekaterine Gorgodze – against Julia Cohen of America. It is worth mentioning that in case of success, Mikadze and Gorgodze will play against each other in 1/8 final.
In doubles tournament, Mikadze-Shapatava and Gegia-Amiraghyan (Armenia) duet overcame the first round. Gorgodze and Grymalska of Italy have not held the first match yet. Tatishvili and Rafikova of Russia lost in the first round.
