Tatishvili Has Chance to Take Revenge

 

21-year-old Georgian tennis player Anna Tatishvili lost the first set of the second round at the Las Vegas tournament (50 000 USD). Then, she won other two sets and went through ¼ final. No.2 seed Tatishvili defeated Vasilisa Bardina of Russia (3:6, 6:0, 6:2). Regina Kulikova of Russia will be her next opponent.

Kulikova was world No.65 player in May 2010. Now, she is in the 143rd place in WTA ranking. In the previous round, Kulikova won over compatriot Valeria Savinykh 6:1, 4:6, 6:2.

Last week, 22-year-old Kulikova played against Tatishvili at the Albuquerque tournament (75 000 USD). Russian tennis player won 7:5, 6:3.

The match of Anna and Regina will start at 24:00 Tbilisi time. If Anna beats Regina, she will play against winner between Glatch and Sanchez.

Maka Chakhnashvili is competing in the Telavi tournament (50 000 USD). In the first round, she beat Irina Buryachok of Ukraine 3:6, 6:4, 7:6 (7:1). Then, Maka won over Iona-Raluca Olaru of Romania 6:7 (4:7), 7:6 (7:4), 6:2.

Jana Cepelova of Slovakia will be opponent of Maka in ¼ final. Cepelova defeated Tatia Mikadze 6:2, 6:3. Sofia Shapatava ended up participation in the tournament. She lost to Julia Cohen of America 7:5, 6:7 (5:7), 0:6.

In doubles tournament, Mikadze and Shapatava will play against Italian Dentoni and Austrian Klaffner. Ekaterine Gorgodze and Italian Grymalska will play against Olaru and Ukrainian Tsurenko.
