Unlike some Georgian Olympians, we have no pretensions toward Anna Tatishvili. Georgian tennis player defeated weaker Stefan Vogt of Lichtenstein and played bravely against stronger Nadia Petrova of Russia but lost 3:6, 7:6 (7:5), 2:6.
This match was stopped because of rain. Tatishvili who is in the 84th place on WTA ranking lost the first set 3:6 to world No.23. In the second set Anna played better and won on tie-break 7:5.
Anna started the decisive set well and made break. Though, she could not manage to develop this advantage. The sixth game turned out decisive where the Georgia was winning 40:0 but finally, she lost 2:4.
The previous match lasted two hours and half. Its statistic is this: Tatishvili had 63% on the first serve. She used 67% (46 from 69). On the second serve she won 44%. The Georgian tennis player served 3 aces, made 6 double faults (the opponent had 5 doubles and 9 aces) and used 2 from 10 break-points. The Russian used 5 from 14 breaks. Overall, Tatishvili won 98 points and Petrova – 111.
So, Tatishvili ended up participation in London Olympics. Though, she earned 55 points.
