Georgian tennis player Anna Tatishvili won the qualifying stage of the tournament (220 000 USD) which is underway in the city of Australia, Brisbane. Though, she lost the first match of the main draw and finished participation in the tournament.
In the qualifying draw, a 20-year-old Tatishvili beat Belarusian Darya Kustova (the 161st in ranking), Croatian Karolina Sprem (the 94th) and Dutch Arantxa Rus (the 139th) and earned 17 rating points. In the main draw she lost against Czech Barbora Zahlavova Strycova (the 67th) 5:7, 2:6 within an hour and 36 minutes.
Czech player had advantage in the match. Finally, Zahlavova used 8 from 3 break-points.
Tatishvili is in the 134th place at Women's Tennis Association (WTA). Brisbane points will advance her with two places. Georgian top player stays in "Green Continent" and continues preparation for Australian Open.
