The debut of Georgian Davit Targamadze in “Alksanria” a leader of Ukrainian first league was quite lucky. He appeared on the pitch at the 63rd minutes, first goal assisted and then scored a goal. Ukrainian mass-media writes down about Targamadze quite good articles. After transferring in “Aleksandria” he was called as “Georgian Riberry” and one of the TV commentator compared him to Messi during debut match. “World Sport” got the following interview from Targamadze.
- Why did you decide to leave “Freiburg” for “Aleksandria”?
- My agreement with German club was exhausted in summer. I had two main reasons of leaving Germany. On the one hand I wanted to have constant playing practice and on the other hand I do not have citizenship of the country which is member of European Union and it caused a lot of problems. I did not think about refusal of Georgian citizenship in spite of this, because I am member of Georgian Youth National Team and dream about playing in National Team in the future. Andery Biliechuk who is my manager, a licensed agent of FIFA advised me to accept transferring in “Aleksandria”, which has real chance of playing in Premier League of Ukriane. After meeting with president and head coach of this club there is no doubt about it. Now I am seriously preparing with my teammates for the next match, which will be held against “Arsenal” in Ukraine Cup tournament.
- How are you inspired after successful debut?
- I am glad that I managed to help my club. My first impression is the following- You should be ready for inflexible playing in Ukraine Championship as well as in Bundesliga.
- After goal assist and scoring a goal, one of the commentators compared you to Messi. It is clear that he made advances to you. Which goal was distinguished in your career?
- I spent 4 years in “Freiburg” and German school tought me criticize myself. So, for me more important is head coach’s estimation. Most distinguished goal for me is a goal which I scored in “Volfsburg” goal, due to this goal “Freiburg” U-19 became a champion of Germany.
- In Germany you played last match against “Baiern”. How can you estimate Tomochuk’s club?
- I got big and incomparable experienced. We lost home match 1:2. I spent about 30 minutes on the pitch and played against Timochuk several times.
