Hungarian Tan Tranh Hoang (2438) gained 5.5 points in six rounds at European Individual Women’s championship and she is half-point ahead French Marie Sebag (2512), Russian Valentina Gunina (2511), Romanian Christina-Adela Foiser (2398) and Litvenian Victorija Cmylite (2497). After the previous rounds Nino Khurtsidze (2447) and Nazi Paikidze have the best results in Georgian delegation (4.5 points), according to the additional points they share the 8-10th places.
As for other Georgian participants, they have the following points: 13.Sophiko Guramishvili (2395)-4.; 18. Salome Melia (2400)-4.0; 20.Lela Javakhishvili (2448)-4; 30.Nino Batsiashvili(2438)-3.5; 36. Nana Dzagnidze (2559)-3.5; 37. Bela Khotenashvili (2490)-3.5;54. Meri Arabidze (2337)-3.0;57. Sophio Gvetadze (2334)-3.0;76. Miranda Mikadze(2329)-2.5;
European Individual Women’s chess tournament will be held from March 2 until March 13. The championship will be based on Swiss system. March 15-16 is for rapid chess and March 17-18 – for blitz. Prize money of the tournament is 106 000 EUR and 10-10 000 EUR for rapid and blitz tournaments.

Tomorrow is day off due to international women’s day. On March 9, in the seventh round Khurtsidze plays against Lanho (2546) of Ukraine with white pieces, Paikidze plays against Tatiana Kosintseva (2513) with black pieces and there will be held Georgian “duel” – Melia-Javakhishvili.
