Summery of European Championship

 

Members of Georgian Youth Wrestling Team after returning from European Championship paid visit to Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs of Georgia and met Minister Lado Vardzelashvili. Minister and Kakha Getsadze president of Wrestling National Federation summarized European Championship which was underway in the city of Srebia, Zrenjanin on June 21-26.  
“Free Style and Greco-Roman Style wrestlers gained 10 medals, what is really good result. Free style wrestlers wrestled very well. Vladimer Khinchegashvili and Davit Marsagishvili finish wrestling in this age category and it is pleasant that they are leaders of their weight categories. I am sure that they will succeed in national team too. I would like to thank to any wrestlers and coaches, also to ministry of sport for support”-stated Getsadze.
Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs thanked to Wrestling Federation for successful working, but before that Vardzelashvili mentioned professionalism of coaches of youth team. He reminded once more that at the end of year sportsmen will be given prize money for this success.
 Davit Khinchegashvili (55 kg) and Davit Marsagishvili (84 kg) became champions at European Championship. Beka Petriashvili (74 kg) won silver medal. Tengiz Chochishvili (60 kg), Tevdore Ebanoidze (96 kg) and Geno Petriashvili (120 kg) won bronze medals. Georgian team gained 63 points and shared the first place with Russian Youth Wrestling Team. Greco-Roman Style Wrestling Team took the third place. Nika Tsetskhladze (50 kg) and Sachino Davitaia (60 kg) won silver medals. Zurab Datunashvili (74 kg) and Sandro Dikhaminjia (96 kg) won bronze medals.
