International tournament is underway in the city of Spain, Majorca. Two Georgian tennis players Sopo Kvatsabaia and Ekaterine Gorgodze are participating in it. Both of them played successfully in the first round.

No.4 seed Kvatsabaia beat Apolonia Melzan (Belgium), one of the winners of the qualifying draw, 6:1, 6:2 and she will play against Spanish Carolina Prats-Milan in 1/8 final.

No.8 seed Gorgodze will play against Stephanie Hirsh (Austria) who is invited with “Wild Card”. Gorgodze won over another winner of the qualifying draw Italian Maria-Leticia Zaval 6:0, 6:2.

In doubles tournament, Gorgodze and Ukrainian Kovalets beat No.4 seed duet of Austrian Tolian and German Zander 1:6, 6:3, 10:7. In ¼ final, they lost against Italian duet (Zaval-Zuchin) 3:6, 2:6.

No.1 seed duet of Kvatsabaia and Spanish Kavali-Reimers lost against Spanish tennis players (Campos-Molina/Sala-Juste) 6:7 (5:7, 2:6).

Prize money of Majorca tennis tournament is 10 000 USD.
