Start with Silver-Bronze

 

 

Georgian national Greco-Roman youth team gained silver and bronze medals at World Championship, ongoing in the city of Thailand, Pattay. Four members of Vladimer Adeishvili’s team wrestled today and Tornike Dzamashvili had the best result.
In 74 kg weight category, Georgian wrestler beat Swiss Damian Dicshem Ukrainian Olsexander Kukhta and Armenian Karapet Chalyan before 1/16 final. He had three-set fight in semi-final, against Turkish Ismail Kochaslan and won the first period 2:0, he lost the second period with the same points and in the decisive period he did not leave any chance to the rival- 5:0. One more victory and Georgian anthem would heard in the gym of Pattaya, but the final fight ended in favor of Belarusian Kazbek Kilou (2:0, 1:0).

In 96 kg weight category, Yakob Kajaia added bronze medal to bronze medal which he gained at European Championship 2012. After easy victory with host Jila Anucha and Egyptian Elsaid Hamdi, he lost the chance of fighting for silver-bronze medal in quarter-final when he lost with German Peter Ioler. After that German wrestler went through the final and as a result Jakobia wrestled in repechage and beat two rivals before gaining bronze medal: Iranian Saman Abas Noroz (1:0, 4:0) and Ukrainian Samir Voloshanin (1:0, 1:0).
Champions and prize winners in 50 and 60kg weight categories were found out but there is not  any Georgian among them. Bachana Putkaradze (50kg) started competition in 1/8 final where he lost with Chinese Fabian Fang in three-set fight (0:2, 2:0, 0:2) and soon he lost chance of wrestling in repechage. As for Firuz Tsulukidze (60kg) he took the fifth place after beating Ukrainian Roman Gaiduk 1:0, 1:0 and in 1/8 final he lost with Kirgiz Urmatbeg Amatov (0:2, 3:4)
Tomorrow champions and prize winners will be found out in four weigth categories. Nika Tsetskhladze (55 kg) will start championship with the match against Indian Surender Surender, Giorgi Davitaia (66kg) does not wrestle in the first circle and in the 1/8 final he wrestles against Austrian Stefan Staigl, Robert Kobliashvili (84kg) bronze winner at European championship 2012 wrestles against Kirgiz Aman Toktogonov in 1/16 final, world active champion, Shota Gogisvanidze (heavy weight) starts competition in the 1/8 final and wrestles against South Korean Ji-Yung Park.
