Start of Gold and End of Bronze

 

Georgian national free-style wrestling team finished competition at Kiev international tournament with 3 gold and 2 bronze medals. Today champion and prize-winners were found out in these following three categories: 60, 74 and 96. Georgian national team had one-one representative in each weight category, two of them – Davit Khutsishvili (74 kg) and Elizbar Odikadze (96 kg) gained bronze medals.
Khutsishvili lost with Azerbaijani Aleksand Gostiev in quarter final and as a result could not manage to go through semi-final. Before this match he beat Ukrainian Bogdan Daniliuk, Moldovan Umar Burusev, Azerbaijani Ibrahim Yusubov and Kazakh Leonid Spiridonov. In decisive match he won over Ukrainian Andrey Shaliut and gained bronze medal.
Odikadze held three matches in the main draw and he won all the three matches over hosts. With beating Andrey Vishar and Pavlo Olinik he went through semi-final, in this match he could not manage to beat Valery Andritsev and went through repechage final, where he won over Mongolian Bachloon Chinchool in two sets.
Malkhaz Zarkua started the tournament with beating over Mikola Bolotnik, then he lost with Americal Valenty Matt, but he also could not manage to go through final and that’s why Zarkua did not have chance to wrestle in repechage.
As far as you know, on the first day of two-day tournament champions and prize winners were found out in four weight categories and these following Georgians became champions in three of these weight categories: Vladimer Khinchegashvili (55 kg), Davit Marsagishvili (84 kg) and Davit Modzmanashvili (120 kg).
